Cubs get invested at Chessington World of Adventure

E-mail Print PDF

2nd Newbury Scouts and Wash Common Scouts certainly don't do things by half!  On an adrenalin fuelled weekend camp together, six brave scouts were invested........on 'The Vampire' roller-coaster at Chessington World of Adventures!

Chessington Camp

Flying over the tree tops, their legs dangling below, they made their promises to their brave (& slightly queasy) leaders, making it a real investment to remember!  What a great start to their exciting scouting adventure.  The rest of the two troops joined in by reaffirming their promises.
Both troops had a fun packed weekend camping at the theme park and really made the most of the rides and activities.  (No one was sick either!)

Joint Winners at this Years Cub Quiz

E-mail Print PDF

Nine teams of Cubs came together from the four corners of
the District, converging at Coronation Hall in Kintbury for another District
Cub Quiz; each hoping to leave with the coveted trophy and title of 2012 Quiz Champions.

As per usual, the afternoon was split into two sections; the
brain busting quiz questions and the practical, dexterity testing, teamwork
promoting, memory managing fun stuff!

All the Cubs represented their Packs with the pride and
sportsmanship that is expected of members of such a prestigious organisation as
Scouting.  The only sad part of the dayis the fact that their can only be one winner……
wait, stop the press, there werejoint winners.

Congratulations to 2ndNewbury who were the defending champions and
managed to secure a joint victory with 1st Inkpen & Kintbury.

Thanks go to Mrs Milsom and her son Richard (Boson at 2nd Thatcham)
for being the quiz masters and the biggest bravo goes to Akela Mo
for organising the whole event which ran with the usual smoothness which we
have come to expect from such an exceptional Leader.

Well done everybody, come back next year to find out who
will be crowned 2013 Quiz Champions.
